Alicia started her career in public health in 2004, where she provided education and counseling on various topics such as sexuality, communicable diseases, and HIV/AIDS. In 2009 she took this expertise to the mental health field and began working with groups, couples, young adults and children who desired additional support in life.
Now as a Licensed Professional Counselor, Certified EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing) therapist, TCTSY-Facilitator (Trauma Center Trauma Sensitive Yoga) and a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional Alicia has made a personal commitment to the mental wellness of her community. Alicia uses EMDR and traditional therapy modalities to treat various life concerns such as anxiety, depression, trauma, and relationship issues.
At A Life’s Journey, Alicia empowers individuals, couples, and families with a nonjudgmental approach to improving their overall well-being. She will assist you with being present in your journey and finding peace with it.
Jordan has dedicated his life to pursuing his passion for connecting and building relationships with those in need, especially youth. Spending the majority of his professional, educational, and athletic career working alongside young individuals, he is deeply fueled by seeing others grow and achieve a greater quality of life.
Jordan graduated with his Bachelors in Psychology from William Jewell College. There, he played basketball for four years and used his athletic network to train young basketball players in his community. After completing his undergraduate degree, Jordan attended UMKC and graduated with his Masters in Counseling in May 2019.
Jordan's professional experience includes four years in inpatient mental health settings working with youth and adults, a professional internship at Associates at Hope Harbor, where he provided individual and group counseling for court mandated clients in Johnson and Wyandotte counties, and 3 years of case management with Youthrive, a non-profit organization focused on helping youth in the Kansas foster care system successfully transition into adulthood. Currently, Jordan is provisionally licensed as a professional counselor in the state of Missouri.
Outside of work, Jordan enjoys staying active through fitness training, spending time with his son, Easton, having conversations with diverse professionals for his podcast, "On Everything with Jordan Lewis", and growing in his meditation practice.

Kortney began working in the mental health field in 2004 where she worked in a residential setting providing direct care services to youth ages 5-18 years of age. After obtaining her Masters Degree in Social Work in 2007, Kortney began to provide individual and family therapy services to families engaged in the division of social services as well as youth who had come in contact with the juvenile justice system.
Kortney has years of experience facilitating individual, group, and family therapy services, and working with co-occurring disorders including substance abuse and eating disorders. Kortney currently works with community partners to facilitate workshops to assist with bringing awareness and providing education regarding mental health.
In 2013, Kortney along with a friend had the vision of opening their own private practice. That vision now goes by the name of “A Life’s Journey.” At A Life’s Journey, Kortney provides individual, group and family therapy services to individuals of all ages from all walks of life.
Kortney is currently focused on growing her expertise and services offered at A Life’s Journey. “Everyone has their own story….their own journey. I am here to help you through yours, as someone helped me through mine.”
